Shaffer Bauer is a graduate student in the nuclear engineering department at the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his undergraduate degree in Nuclear, Plasma, and Radiological Engineering with a minor in Chemistry from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 2026. His research interests include nuclear physics and radiation detection for nuclear security. In his free time, Shaffer enjoys mountain biking, skiing, and running.
