Ian Snider is a graduate student in the Nuclear Engineering department at UC Berkeley. He graduated from Truman State University in 2023 with a BA in Physics and a minor in Mathematics. He then transferred to Washington University in St. Louis for the dual-degree engineering program and graduated in 2025 with a BS in Mechanical Engineering. He currently studies neutron rich nuclei far from stability for his research on the Beta-Oslo method of indirect neutron capture measurements. Ian is also interested in exploring the medical applications of nuclear physics for cancer therapies. Outside of nuclear physics, he enjoys developing typesetting languages, tweaking his computer’s dotfiles, and rock climbing.
